Chinese Herbal Quality and Safety Management Model Based on Blockchain

Abstract:

[Objective] A Chinese herbal quality and safety management model based on blockchain is proposed to relieve rampant Chinese herbal counterfeits. It integrates and manages the production, processing, transportation, trading and other processes of Chinese herbal ensured by non-tamperable, decentralized, and traceable features of the blockchain. [Methods] In this model, the enterprise privacy information is protected by segmented encryption, local storage capacity limitations are surmounted through shared cloud drives, and the fairness and security are improved by the consensus mechanism of Fair Primary Selection for Byzantine Fault Tolerance in dynamic networks. [Results] This paper shows that the blockchain technology can increase the ability to control the quality of Chinese herbal, increase the risk and difficulty of fraud, reduce the cost of the supply chain, as the same to reduce unnecessarily repeated verification and improve the efficiency of the whole system. [Limitations] As the Chinese herbal quality and safety management model constantly integrating and developing, the number of nodes in blockchain may affect the efficiency of the system to some extent. [Conclusions] The Chinese herbal quality and safety management model based on blockchain has a certain value in the supervision of Chinese herbal fraud. This system meets the practical application needs, which not only realizes the protection of privacy data, but also completes the supervision of each process.
