Framework, Theory, and Practice of Digitalized Knowledge Management: A Survey

Abstract:

[Objective] With the development of artificial intelligence, big data and other digital technologies, knowledge management, as one of the important ways to sustain the competitive advantage of organization, shows the digital characteristics. This paper provides a comprehensive introduction of digitalized knowledge management for researchers, analyzes recent achievements, and foresees the future development trends. [Coverage] This paper gives an extensive review of the latest research of digitalized knowledge management with the method of searching by key terms. [Methods] Based on a large number of digitalized knowledge management literature, this paper retrospects the research fields and corresponding applications, analyzes the current development trends of digitalized knowledge management, and proposes some future development trends. [Results] This paper analyzes the framework, theories, and practices of digitalized knowledge management. Theories include expanding definition of knowledge, digital technologies, and shadow learning; Practices cover intelligent knowledge creation process, knowledge network construction with meta-knowledge, and the digitalized knowledge storage and reuse. [Conclusions] Digitalized knowledge management already have the preliminary development in theories. With the acceleration of digital process and the digital transformation in China, there is the proliferation of innovative digitalized knowledge management applications, which could provide many chances for advanced research about theory and technology.
