Abstract:

[Background] Since the financial crisis in 2008, the number of international trades has declined sharply. Believing that the rapid development of globalization has led to the aggravation of the imbalance of the world economy, some countries and regions have strengthened trade protectionism, which has led to the argument that the trend of globalization should be reversed. [Methods] By analyzing the new characteristics and risks of globalization in the information age, this paper puts forward that China should continuously improve the level of informatization in order to better participate in and adapt to the new round of globalization. [Conclusions] This paper argues that the development of modern science and technology is based on globalization and its continuous deepening process. The development of technology, especially the improvement and application of information technologies, will promote further deepening of the international labor division and resource allocation, which indicates that the trends of globalization will not be reversed. Finally, the occurrence of COVID-19 has accelerated the globalization transformation from offline to online.
